Glen Head is a wonderful hamlet and census designated place (CDP) in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County, Long Island, New York. At the time of the 2010 census, Glen Head had a population of approximately 4,697 residents. The total area of the village is 1.6 square miles, all of it land. Residents of Glen Head enjoy quick and convenient access to all of the remarkable amenities of Oyster Bay. The Town of Oyster Bay is the most eastern of the three towns in Nassau County. Glen Head connects to New York City via bus line and the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR). The three main roads in the area are Glen Cove Road, Glen Cove Avenue, and Glen Head Road. Of interest nearby is Sagamore Hill, former home of Theodore Roosevelt, 26th president of the United States. Sagamore Hill served not only as his residence but also the “Summer White House” during his years in office. When the president was in residence at the “Summer White House” the town garnered significant media attention. Roosevelt's former home is now a museum.
