Bethpage and Old Bethpage are hamlets and census designated places (CDP) in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County, Long Island, New York. The population of Bethpage is 16,429 and it covers 3.6 square miles, all of it land. The zip code for the village is 11714. The children of the village attend the Bethpage Union Free School District, Plainedge Union Free School District, or Island Trees Union Free School District. Bethpage is surrounded by the villages of Plainedge, Old Bethpage, Hicksville, Farmingdale, Plainview and Levittown. King Kullen and Best Yet Market are both grocery store chains based in Bethpage. The United States Postal Service also has a sorting facility here which serves the New York City region. The technology companies LogiTag and Cablevision have their North American headquarters in Bethpage, and the Long Island division of Goya Foods is also located here. There are five golf courses to choose from in Bethpage State Park, and the Black Course was the site of the United States Open in 2002 and 2009. Both villages are served by the Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District. The Eighth Precinct of Nassau County Police Department provides law enforcement to the community. A large portion of Old Bethpage consists of parks and undeveloped property including Old Bethpage Village Restoration, Battle Row Campground, and Bethpage State Park. Old Bethpage Village Restoration is an authentic recreation of mid-19th century life. This 209-acre living history museum features farmhouses, general store, cobbler shop, schoolhouse, blacksmith shop, and churches, all in period condition.
