The remarkable village of Bayville, sometimes referred to as Pine Island, is on Long Island Sound, directly across Oyster Bay, New York, from Greenwich, Connecticut. Bayville is located in the town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County, New York. This delightful village was incorporated in 1919 and had a population of 6,669 at the time of the 2010 census. The village has a total area of 1.5 square miles, with 1.4 square miles of that being land, all within Oyster Bay. The Town of Oyster Bay is the most eastern of the three towns in Nassau County. Considered part of the New York metropolitan area, the Town of Oyster Bay is the only one of the three which extend the entire width, from the north shore to the south shore of Long Island.

It’s a tidal estuary in the Atlantic Ocean which stretches 110 miles from east to west and is 21 miles at it’s widest point.
