The hamlet of East Norwich is located in the Long Island township of Oyster Bay, surrounded by the communities of Muttontown, Oyster Bay Cove, Syosset and Brookville, with New York City just over 30 miles to the west.
Both the median household income and the median home value here are well above the national average, and property values remain high. In this quiet community, single family houses are the most commonly available housing option, although the hamlet does offer a handful of townhouses, condos and apartments including rentals. Homes range from rambling mansions to modest colonials and ranches. With a low crime rate and high-performing schools, East Norwich is an attractive place to raise a family. It is also a walkable, village-style community, unlike some of its more car-dependent neighbors.
Though East Norwich itself is mostly a residential community, there are plenty of excellent cultural, nightlife, and dining attractions in the neighboring hamlet of Oyster Bay. The beaches, parks and other natural attractions of Long Island's scenic North Shore are nearby as well. The nearest Long Island Railroad commuter rail stop is also in Oyster Bay.
